This always changes, but right now, I’d say my favorite book is FOOL by Christopher Moore.

Right now, I dig “Rath” from The Reaper Diaries. Okay, I’m picking a boy from my own book, but he’s hawt. I made sure of it!

I, too, am a book addict. In fact, I have a double addiction as both a writer of words and a reader of them.

Hi Michele we are really happy to host this FFBC event with you and to get to know you a little bit more and your books. Thank you so much for everything.

The Reaper Diaries is about Molly Bartolucci, a reaper-in-training, who is learning that life, and death, aren’t exactly predictable.

I imagined a world where zombies, ghosts, and supernatural elements were part of the common world. I love the idea that all the things we find a little scary or stranger would be considered perfectly normal.

Like most teenagers, Molly is trying to figure out who she is, while trying to do the right things for her family.

It’s been a dance, really, between who they are and who they want to be together. Plus, they have that whole “end of the world” thing to worry about. It’s about priorities … and hormones.

Liam Hemsworth as Rath
Chloë Grace Moretz as Molly
Odeya Rush as Ally
AnnaSophia Rush as Barbie

Molly has done a lot of growing up in this book, and has a more mature view of the world and her role in it. And her and Rath are getting closer as their relationship changes into something deeper and more meaningful.

Goodreads Synopsis:
Will their wedding night be a one-night stand or a merger for keeps?
Global real estate mogul, Cade Sloan should've listened to his own advice: trust no one, and never a woman…especially not his 24 hour bride gone AWOL with his millions. Nina, mousy secretary turned sexy vixen, will repay every penny with interest…

When Cade gears up for a takeover, there's sweet hell to pay. Nina owes her husband a wedding night and he’s hell bent on collecting… his way, his time, his pleasure.

My Review:

This book starts off with us finding out that Cade Sloan is in the facing some money issues, due to a hacker that is stealing money from his company. In order to save him from not being able to pay his employees the following month, his uncle offers him 3 million dollars, but in order to receive the money, he must do one thing: Get Married. This is where his secretary Nina comes in. Cade views her as a quit, hard working yet easy going woman. Someone who be believes will go along with his plan of matrimony, for a little bit of money and the honor of being his wife. Nina agrees to his propisition, but she has a thing or two up her sleeve. Nina believes that Cade's compnay is responsible for the dissapearance of her father, a former employee, and she is determined to use her new name to get to the bottom of his disappearance. When Nina asks for more money than Cade was willing to offer, she decides to sweeten the deal, by demanding an actual wedding night between the 2 of them. Before he able to collect on his part of the bargain, Nina slips out with all of the 3 million dollars.

A year after searching for her, he finally locates his "wife"  and demands his half of the money back. She is unable to repay him therefore he makes her his own personal "Cinderella"  pre fairy godmothers and magical pumpkins. During this time, they both are searching for the answers that they seek: "What made Nina's father run away? Who is threatening Cade's company?" Why is what was meant to be a business arrangement is starting to cause real feelings for both of them?

Based on my synopsis, you could tell that this story has some real potential, and it certainly did! There was many aspects of this story that I absolutely loved. But in the end of I found this story lacking. First off the author brought up some amazing possible plot lines. What happened to Nina's father, the truth behind the hacker, but these stories were not plotted out. When you find out the truth behind them they are just rushed and almost put out as a forethought. I would have really liked to seen them talked about more. Secondly, even though this was supposed to be a "Cinderella," story I think the author could have done with out it. I really liked the idea of a marriage of conveience blossoming into true love, I just felt that the scenes where we see Nina paying back the money she owed Cade as unnecessary and which made the story less appealing to me.

Goodreads Synopsis:

A flirty, fun, mix-and-match romance about two sisters who are betrothed to the wrong men...

Evangeline Vernon is a woman on the verge of spinsterhood — until the prim and proper Duke of Manchester steps in. Her family is pleased with the match, but the duke is not the passionate man Evangeline craves. Her heart belongs to an alluring, golden-haired gentleman, perfect in every way...except one: he doesn’t exist.

Angela Vernon is everything a proper, well-brought-up woman should be. She knows her place and understands society’s expectations — which include not being jealous of her sister and not coveting her sister’s suitor. But how can she bear the heartache of watching the only man she loves marry not only her sister, but a woman who doesn’t see past his exterior to the man he is beneath?

My Review:

This novella was exactly what it promised to be: A flirty, fun, mix and match romance.  This story is about two sisters who are the unhappy recipients of their mother's schemes in matchmaking. Evangeline the elder sister, is on the brinks of so-called spinsterhood, as her 25th birthday is slowing upon her and she has yet to make a match. Recently she has been receiving the attentions of the most eligible bachelor in London, the Duke of Manchester. Even though most women would be honored by his attentions, Evangeline does not want them. However, if he proposes she must accept or she may be thrown out of the house by her parents. Evangeline want to marry for love, and she believes that she has met the the love of her life, but he is figuratively and literally the man of her dreams.  Her match with the Duke also becomes something that Evangeline does not desire, when she finds out that her younger sister Angela is in love with him.  What will Evangeline do? Will she follow her mother's wishes and break her sister's heart? Or will she do what her mind and heart are telling her to do and risk being disowned by her parents? And what about the man of her dreams? Why does he seem so real to her? Will she find a man who wins her heart over?

This was a very short yet sweet, but mostly enjoyably novella. It had a great story and enjoyable characters. Even though it was only 62 pages. The author was able to wrap up the story in a pleasant way, that did not keep you longing for more. I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys historical fiction, specifically about the regency era.

Synopsis via Goodreads

“Find Me.”

These are the words written on Tessa Waye’s diary. The diary that ends up with Wick Tate. But Tessa’s just been found . . . dead.

Wick has the right computer-hacking skills for the job, but little interest in this perverse game of hide-and-seek. Until her sister Lily is the next target.

Then Griff, trailer-park boy next door and fellow hacker, shows up, intent on helping Wick. Is a happy ending possible with the threat of Wick’s deadbeat dad returning, the detective hunting him sniffing around Wick instead, and a killer taunting her at every step?

Foster child. Daughter of a felon. Loner hacker girl. Wick has a bad attitude and sarcasm to spare.

But she’s going to find this killer no matter what.

Because it just got personal.

My Review:

Foster child. Daughter of a felon. Loner hacker girl. Wick has a bad attitude and sarcasm to spare. I believe the synopsis does a great job describing Wick our main character. However if I was able to make adjustments, there are a few other words I would throw in to describe her: Loyal, determined, passionate and caring.

Wick has had an usual upbringing to say the least. She has a drug lord for a father, and a mother who committed suicide. Now placed in foster care with her younger sister Lily, Wick is determined to save enough money to be able to have a stable home for herself and her sister. She is a hacker. A gifted computer genius who uses her skill to find out whether a woman's boyfriend/husband is remaining fateful to their significant other.

One morning she is shocked to find a mysterious package left for her on her foster home's front steps. It is a personal journal of a a classmate Tessa, with a post it that says FIND ME.  Wick believes this to be suspicious, but when she goes to school and find out that Tessa had committed suicide, Wick is determined to get to the bottom of the story, and find out why the journal was given to her.

It had been a really long time since I had read a good thriller. Usually with thrillers, regardless if they are adult fiction or YA, I have the ability to guess the ending about a third way into the story. But I have to admit that with FIND ME, I had no idea where the author was going to take the story. I really enjoyed this story, and I have to admit Wick has just became one of my favorite YA heroines. I loved how dimensional the author made Wick's personality. She is brave and courageous, but at the same time weak and vulnerable. She is loyal to her sister, but at the same time scared of her father. Thanks to her unusual and dysfunctional childhood. She is unbelieving and does not trust love of any kind. Whether it is the love of a foster family who truly wants the best for her. Or the love of a boy, who wants to protect her and be there for her, even when she pushes him away.

There were so many amazing aspects to this story, that I had to give it a 5 out of 5 :)

An Letter Poem of Find Me Fangirl Love
by Natalie D. Richards

Okay, I should preface this with the statement that I loved everything about this book.  From cover to cover, Find Me is a hotrod on crack, with hairpin turns and breathless descents into terror.  It is So. Darn. Good.
But I will try to give you a quick play by play of just why I love it.

F is for Fierce.  And fierce is for Wick.  This character will live with me forever.  She breaks my heart and makes me laugh.  Bernard writes her with so much honesty and skill that it's a little mind-blowing.  Lines like this one..."When Griff touches me, I feel like something inside me pitches sideways and breaks."
I is for IntenseBrace yourself.  This book isn't for the faint of heart.  It's a heart-pounding thrill ride from page one to page three hundred and seven.
N is for No, Please Don't End.  I devoured this book so fast that I was desperate for the next installment the second I closed the first.  While the conclusion does satisfy (oh, boy does it satisfy!) Wick's story is far from over and I want more.  Thank God Remember Me (Book Two!) is due out next year.
D is for Dangerous.  Bernard knows how to make the stakes matter.  This book isn't dealing with a girl who's worried about a stolen car.  This is a race for survival and no scene is wasted on the unnecessary.  Tightly woven and perfectly paced, it is everything a thriller should be.  I read, holding my breath, wondering if anything resembling a happy ending was possible.  Pure genius.
M is for Masterful.  Bernard's voice is fresh and intoxicating.  Chapter endings like this one hooked me in, making me sigh and keeping me on the edge of my seat at the same time:
"I press my cheek between Griff's shoulder blades and hear my fear grow pulse and breath.  The faster we go, the faster it follows."
I mean, really?  Wow, right?
E is for Exciting.  I think I've already made it clear this book is exciting, so that's not what I'm talking about.  Reading this book made me feel like an early explorer.  Like I'd stumbled across something new and untouched, a fresh voice that I have no doubt will be a huge force in this genre.
In short -- though nothing about this is short! -- this is a stunning debut from an author who's going to do some amazing things to the YA landscape.  Can't wait to see what's next for Ms. Bernard because after finding Find Me, I know I'll need more!

I graduated from Georgia State University with a Literature degree. Since then, I’ve worked as a riding instructor, cell phone salesgirl, personal assistant, groom, exercise rider, accounting assistant, and, during a very dark time, customer service rep.

So don’t let anyone tell you a BA degree will keep you unemployed.

Chloe didn't think about it much when she nodded off in study hall on that sleepy summer day. But when she wakes up, snow is on the ground and she can't remember the last six months of her life. Before, she'd been a mediocre student. Now, she's on track for valedictorian and being recruited by Ivy League schools. Before, she never had a chance with super jock Blake. Now he's her boyfriend. Before, she and Maggie were inseparable. Now her best friend won't speak to her.

What happened to her?

And why can't she remember?

My Review:
Picture this: You wake up from a nap, and suddenly you can't remember the last 6 months of your life. You're bleeding, have a bump on your head, and suddenly the most popular boy in school that you have been crushing on for years, is running up,to console you and and out of a sudden kisses you and calls himself your boyfriend. But for some reason you do not get those butterfly-feeling you expected to have. Instead you find yourself yearning for the touch of another boy, someone who you would never find yourself pinning over six month before. Your love life is not the only thing to have changed. Magically you are now the top of your class and have received a ridiculously high score on the SATs. You are popular and have a wide new group of friends.

But things are not all bright and toasty, there are some things that are not so super great. Your best friend since when you were in diapers is not longer speaking to you. And even though  you have everything you have ever wanted, this new bf, new friends and new academic achievements screams some major falsehood. And well not remembering the last six months of your life and how all these changes seemed to come about doesn't really help either. What would you do?

These are the challenges that Chloe faces. As must as she has always dreamed up being with Blake, she lizes that he is not everything that she expected him to be, and that he may even be dangerous. Chloe finds herself longing for Adam, even though he has a criminal record and everyone is warning her away from him. But there is something about Adam that she can't stay away form, especially since his touch is the only thing that allows her to have glimpses of what has happened to her in the last six months. Will she be able to recover her memories and find out what and why and specially whom caused them to disappear. Will she able to reconcile her friendship with Maggie, her childhood best friend. And who will be the hero at the end of the tunnel holding her hand?

All I have to say is that I freakin' loved this book. Even though I am many years passed my high school days, I could really understand the tough situation Chloe faces in this book. Who wouldn't want to be with the high school heart throb and be the top of their class? But as the story unraveled I found myself drawn into the story and almost as determined to as Chloe to find out answers. I have to admit that I was not expected any of the twists and turns this story takes. The last few chapters of this book are absolutely amazing and keep you he edge of your seat to find out whats going to happen next. This story was a lot more action packed that I was expecting. I would have to say that my favorite aspect of the story line was Chloe's friendship with Maggie and the struggles their friendship faces, as Chloe knows she did something to betray Maggie, but as she has no memory of what happened, she can not figure out how to fix what she did or if their friendship if even salvageable. And yes than their is ADAM, I do not think I can explain how amazing Adam is, but I really liked how Romily Bernard - author of FIND ME, fangirls about him. So keep on reading to hear more about Adam's amazing qualities!

Guest Post by Romily Bernard

Reasons I Love SIX MONTHS LATER
I’m still getting used to this whole author gig. Yeah, I have a book coming out, but, in real life, I spend more time talking about other people’s books than I do my own. I guess it’s because I think of myself as a reader first and a writer second. I have a serious fangirl bookshimmy, a TBR pile that’s almost as tall as I am, and I will flat cut someone if he/she stands between a new Rainbow Rowell book and me.
In some ways, I hope that never disappears. Well, losing the violent streak would probably relieve everyone, but how else would I keep Boy Genius on his toes?
I’m always excited to find a great book and I was super lucky to score Natalie Richards’s debut, SIX MONTHS LATER.
First reasons to love? Who wouldn’t want to wake up and realize you’re top of your high school class, dating your longtime crush, and en route to an Ivy League university? Exactly. No one. And that’s what I loved about it. Richards gave us this awesome fantasy…and then began to pick it apart in a very creepy way.
Second reason I loved SIX MONTHS LATER? Adam. Let’s say it again. Adam. If you like your heroes skewed toward bad boy, this one’s for you. Bad boys can be hit or miss for me, but I thought Adam was spot on. He’s the one point in Chloe’s reinvented life that should feel entirely off and yet, every time they’re together, it feels entirely right.
Third reason? I heart Chloe. She freaks out, rolls with the punches, and uses her head to piece together what happened. I’m going to make the whole thing sound cheesy, but Chloe instinctively gets that it’s the people in your life who make it perfect. It’s not about having the right boyfriend, the right test scores, and the right college, but about the people who make you feel whole. It’s what gives a seriously creepy book a whole new layer.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. As always, I’m beyond grateful to the FFBC for having me today. Thanks a million. I hope you enjoyed the post and I hope you enjoy SIX MONTHS LATER and FIND ME!!

At seven, Natalie D. Richards wrote about Barbara Frances Bizzlefishes (who wouldn't dare do the dishes.) Now she writes about awesome girls, broody boys, and all things dark and creepy. Natalie lives in Ohio (Go Bucks!) with her techno-wiz husband, three amazing kids, and a seventy pound dust-mop who swears he's the family dog. Her psychological thriller, Six Months Later, will be released in October 1, 2013 by Sourcebooks Fire. Until then, you'll probably find her writing her next book or trying to wade through the towers of dog-eared paperbacks that have taken over her bedroom.
