Hello Everyone! I can't tell you how excited and thrilled I am to be apart
of the official blog tour for The Mistress by Tiffany Reisz. I have been blessed
and honored to have receive many advance reader copies in my six months as a blogger.
But I will have to honestly say that when I got the e-mail saying I was approved for this
book I did a little happy dance around my apartment.
I discovered the first book The Siren in the new arrivals section of my local
library and the synopsis grabbed my attention. I immediately picked it up to give it a read.
I started the book around 10pm a night before I had to work at 12 hour
shift at the hospital for my nursing internship. I believe I put the book down
around 3am, when my alarm was scheduled to go off at 5am.
If I did not have to be at work in a few hours, I would have probably
stayed up all night to have finished the book. After working 12 hours, I rushed
home and finished the book. Books 2 and 3 where already checked out at the library
so the next day, I went to my local book store and purchased all 3 of the series.
So for those of you have read the series already, know that Book 3 ends
at a ridiculous cliff hanger. I was shocked and was suffering withdrawals missing the new friends
I had met in the Original Sinner's world. So I went on Twitter and
contacted, The Mistress herself and begged for help. I was surprised to have a reply from
her right away. She told me about some of the short stories to help ease my pain until
the last book was released!
Fast Forward to a month later. I had received the approval e-mail from NetGalley.
Downloaded my copy to my iPad, and then sit there just staring at the loaded file in Kindle.
I had been waiting for this book for a several weeks and I now had it in
my possession, but I was scared to open it up. Because when I got to the last page
it would be the end of the The Red Years Series and I would have to wait until March 2014 to read more about these characters I had become to know, love and lust after.
But I had to know what happen to Nora and so I dove in!

Book Synopsis:
There's punishment-and
then there's vengeance.
Nora Sutherlin is being held, bound and naked. Under
different circumstances, she would enjoy the situation immensely, but her
captor isn't interested in play. Or pity.
As the reality of her impending peril unfolds, Nora becomes
Scheherazade, buying each hour of her life with stories-sensual tales of SĆøren,
Kingsley and Wesley, each of whom has tempted and tested and tortured her in
his own way. This, Nora realizes, is her life: nothing so simple, so vanilla,
as a mere love triangle for her. It's a knot in a silken cord, a tangled mass
of longings of the body and the heart and the mind. And it may unravel at any
moment.
But in Nora's world, no one is
ever truly powerless-a cadre of her friends, protectors and lovers stands ready
to do anything to save her, even when the only certainty seems to be sacrifice
and heartbreak…
My Review:
This book picked up right where the last one left off someone from Soren and Kingley's past is back and in town and is not to happy with Nora. She's taken Nora hostage and in order to lure Soren to her. While Nora is kept under lock and key and restraints (Not the kind she likes) her captor wants to hear stories regarding her relationship with Soren and Kingsley. This is one of my favorite parts of this book. I love hearing how our favorite Sinners became who they are today. This is also one of the reasons why I am so looking forward to The White Series and the 1st book The Priest. As Nora is reminiscing about her relationship with Soren, she starts to second-guess the decisions she made in her love life with Wesley. Yes, Wesley can give her the kind of life that she will never be able to have with Soren, but does she really want those things. Can she hung up her red whip and boots and and say goodbye to the Underground for ever? This time away from both of the men that she loves allows her put things into perspective.
In the mean time, Soren, Kingsley and Wesley have to do something they together that they never imagined. They have to put their feelings for one another aside and put an action plan together to save Nora. - This one set up was absolutely amazing. It's all the characters you love under one roof doing their best to not knock each other senseless. I love the dynamic between this very unlikely Three Musketeers. The love that each one has for Nora is beautiful and it is enough to bring them all together. I also really liked how at the end of all this, Wesley was able to understand Soren and his relationship with Nora even more, and maybe at the end of the day both Wesley and Soren learned how to respect one another. And Kingsley, what can one say about Kingsley. In this book we get to see the brave French spy. Just because he needed something more to make him sexy, because he wants sexy enough to begin with.
In this book we also have the addition of 2 new characters. First is Laila, Soren's niece who is town to surprise her uncle and her aunt Eleanor. I enjoyed Laila's addition to the story. She is young and innocent woman who desperately believes in love. And why is she such a hopeless romantic? Because she's seen and witnessed love first hand, in the way that her uncle loves her aunt. She also throws an interesting twist into the story, but I will let you guys figure that out on your own.
The second new character that is re-introduced into this story is Grace Easton, the wife of Nora's agent Zack. Some reviews that I have read on Goodreads, questioned Grace's role in the Mistress, but honestly Grace was one of my favorites in this book. Probably because, out of all the characters in this story, she is the one I feel that I can relate with most. After hearing about Nora through her husband and reading some of her books, Grace is intrigued to find out more about the underground world. And since her husband had his turn to test out the waters, he's given his wife the green light for her to see and experience this life for herself (What an understanding husband) So Grace comes to town to spend time with Nora and instead is drawn into the the scheme of getting And yes she does get a taste of the underground world, but I won't tell you with whom!
All in all The Mistress was everything I wanted it to be, and even more! I really enjoyed this series. It is probably my favorite find of 2013 and a series that I will be re-reading many times. I am so thankful to have found this series, and so thankful to Tiffany Reisz for creating it. I feel like it is almost a disservice to call this story Erotica. Yes there are a ton of steamy scenes, and some that are not suitable for all. But this story is so much more than just Erotica. Tiffany Reisz is an amazing writer and doesn't just write sex scenes, but delivers a beautiful story. I will definitely be a fan of hers for life! I am still hoping she one day makes it out to Los Angeles one day, because I would really like to attend a signing of hers!
The other books in the Original Sinners Series!
