Update: This giveaway is now closed! Winner will be announced by Monday, April 1st. (And no it will not be an April fools joke!)
My Thoughts on the Signing: This is the first signing I had been able to attend in a while due to my school schedule so I was very excited it was on a Thursday and I was able to attend. Unfortunately for some reason there was not as big of a turn out as I was expecting. I think it may have to do with the fact that Cassie Claire and Lily Collins, the actress who will be portraying Clary were at the Grove in LA doing a signing for Clockwork Princess. But regardless, Marie was very grateful for everyone who showed up. She explained a little bit about herself and told us how she became a writer. I was really interested to know that she had written 4 completed manuscripts before she able to get one sold. As a budding writer I was impressed how she was able to keep writing and not get discouraged. She also spoke a little about the last book in the trilogy. It will be titled The Champion, and is currently in it's first set of revisions. If it is completed in time we might see a Fall 2013 release. So let's all keep our fingers crossed! I personally cannot wait to get my hands on it!
Okay guys, that's it for now! I have another book signing that I will be attending next week. It's for Romeo Redeemed, the sequel to Juliet Immortal. And depending on how well this giveaway turns out I may consider getting a copy of that for a second giveaway! Thank you all for reading and look forward to chatting with all of you very soon!
I had a great time tonight , and I cant wait to get started on these boks!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joinine me! i know you will <3 them!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is Eldest by Christopher Paolini. I read it when I was younger and I loved it so much! It's the perfect book it's got dragons, elves, magic, bow and arrows! This book is basically everything I love. It's my favorite childhood book and it's still my all time favorite!
ReplyDeleteHi Helen! Thank you for commenting! I have always seen those books at the bookstore, but have been intimidated by the size of them. THEY ARE BIG! But glad to hear that liked them so much! P.S. Please Subscribe =)
DeleteYes it was the same when I saw them first! They're pretty massive! But now I just think yay more awesomeness!! haha!
DeleteOh I'm already subscribed, at least I think I am.
My favorite book (now) is Delirium because it has a Utopian society, which I love reading about, and it has great romance with amazing writing
ReplyDeleteHi Laura! Thank you for commenting! I absolutely love Delirium too! Have you read Requiem yet? I'm still waiting to pick that one up, the way book 2 ended was terrible.! P.S. Please subscribe :)
DeleteI haven't read it yet but I want to so badly! Don't worry I already subscribed. I'm actually hoping to get it from one of my closest friends, she obsess over the book series and I have Legend because she says it's amazing and she has amazing book taste.
DeleteThank you! If you read it before I do, let me know what you think. Hopefully I'll be able to read it soon! I get all giddy when I see the pretty cover at Barnes and Noble!
DeleteI couldn't find where to subscribe. I am following via GFC. My favorite book/series is Contingency (Sage Hannigan Time Warper book 1) by Peggy Martinez. I am currently finishing up book 2 and I love this series. Sage is a strong female character who warps through time. I love that she travels back in time and is supposed to stop an event from happening so that the preteranatural community can continue to be safe from exposure. Laugh out loud humor, handsome leading men and add a strong kick butt female lead character. I love everything about this book and series!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tina! That looks like an interesting read. I just added to my TBR on Goodreads. There should be a "Join this Site" icon right underneath the Goodreads scroll. If you do not see it, I apologize I'm still trying to get this blog set up down :)
DeleteThat is the GFC. I did join the site. You are doing a great job. I am new to blogging too and it can definitely be challenging!
DeleteMy favourite book at the moment, is Divergent by Veronica Roth. I absolutely love the characters, the action, the romance and the whole concept of a society where the people have split up to different factions. The whole story pulled me in, and whilst Tris is awesome, kick-ass and strong, she's also very flawed, which I think is great. I hate it when characters are so perfect, that they get completely unrealistic.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the third book!
Hello and thank you for commenting! I have to be brave and admit that I have yet to read Divergent! I even have an autographed copy, but alas for one reason or another I have kept putting it off. I will probably wait until it gets closer to the release of the 3rd book and start reading them :)
DeleteOh my where to start, my favorite series is The Morganville Vampires. I adore this series and its made me want to break away and try writing for myself. I love the connection I feel between the characters and I would love to be able to have a fan feel a connection like that to the words I will one day write down for everyone to read. I have not read prodigy yet but my best friend has and she loves it,I can't wait to read it...but anyways...great work on your blog so far it looks amazing and can't wait to read more from you :) Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDelete~bookaholicsxoxo~
Hi! Thank you for following, your comment and your encouragement on my blog thus far. It's still no where close to were I want it to be. But baby steps! :) I too am a big fan of the Morganiville Series! I absolutely love Claire, Eve, Shane adn Michael! Are you up to date on the series?
DeleteYes!! I am awaiting fall of night I believe it is called....and ahhh I'm screaming inside I want to know whats gonna happen. My favorite character is deff Myrnin and Claire and Shane I love the love triangle thing going on. Have you read the latest books. Bitter Blood made me cry so much but I was really happy with it too. I think Rachel Caine made a great choice with where the story is going. I really wish this would be made into a movie/show or something. I know the movies are never like the books but i always enjoy both stories.
DeleteYeah my blog is still being worked on, in fact it is never done :)
Going to a book signing must have been very exciting. I still have yet to attend one. Thanks for letting me know about your giveaway and your blog. I am following you via J.N. Cahill.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be so hard to pick a favorite all-time book...I guess I will go with one of my oldest and most loved favorites--Heaven by V.C. Andrews. I discovered V.C. Andrews when I was beginning high school. I ironically watched a movie based on one of the author's books before even knowing it had been a book. Then I saw my friend with the book and I ended up borrowing it and pretty much devoured all of the author's books as soon as I could borrow or buy them. Anyway, Heaven has always been my favorite because the main character is a very strong young woman and it always gave me hope. No matter what bad things would happen to Heaven, she would endure them without breaking her character, and I admired it very much. I found a lot of solace in it because there were a lot of "family problems" in the book and while my own family problems weren't really anything alike, it still made me feel like I wasn't alone.
Thanks for the chance to enter and for sharing your experience. It was also nice to see what other "favorites" were mentioned.
You should definatley try to hit up a signing they are really fun! I love meeting the authors and meeting other fans of their work
DeleteCongrats on the new blog!
ReplyDeleteWell I am not going to lie, but I was one those at the Cassandra Clare book signing. I'm still bitter about missing Marie when she was at the Grove last month.
My favorite book series will have to be Harry Potter! It's just a great series, the evolution of the characters that we see from them being kids to grown ups is just amazing. All the obstacles that Harry endures in his lifetime is just heartbreaking. He sticks to it and finally gets a happy ending! It's just a great series that I like re-reading.
Oh and the ending of "Prodigy" still makes me teary eyed...
DeleteYes the ending was out of control! How was the Cassie Claire signing? I really wanted to go but those signings get out of control!
DeleteWhat a great giveaway! I've heard Prodigy is awesome but still haven't gotten to read it. And a signed copy is a super bonus! I love going to signings. I subscribed to your page and also became a GFC follower under the name Christina.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Oops, I forgot to list my favorite book. That's so hard! Overall, it would be between The Host by Stephenie Meyer or The Giver by Lois Lowry or Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. If it's a recent read-- Bitterblue by Kristen Cashore or Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry or Daughter of Smoke and bone by Laini Taylor. Thanks again!
Deleteensconcedya@gmail.com
Thank you for the add Christina and the follow! I have heard a lot of great things abut Daughter of Smoke and Bone and the Ender's Game and both of those are on my TBR list :)
DeleteAwesome giveaway! Ok let's see favorite book...favorite book...such a hard question but I think my favorite book right now is Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. I just finished it a couple days ago and I love it to bits. I think I love it so much because I laughed a the sarcasm but I also sobbed so much I couldn't even read the pages. Cassandra Clare created the perfect love triangle because it's actually a triangle and not a V like almost every other Young Adult book I've read. It also takes place in the past and connects to another series I love. Plus it has Will Herondale (my favorite fiction guy at the moment). And it has Magnus!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this giveaway!
Who could not laugh Magnus right? lol Thank you for the comment and for following! I love the Mortal Instruments series, and am excited to hopefully read Clockwork Angel in April. I am a huge historical fictin fan and have heard this series has the best of both worlds!
DeleteMy favorite book is Shatter Me by: Tahereh Mafi. I have a favorites tab on my blog with other great reads! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I'm now following via GFC.
Thank for following and commenting! I just checked out Shatter Me and the sequel from the library! I have heard a lot of great things about this series and can't wait to read it!
DeleteI have soo many favorite, so I will give you my recent YA favorites are Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Red Ridge Pack series by Sara Dailey & Staci Weber, and The Secret of Albion Falls by Sass Cadeaux. I love to read, and I'm addicted to collecting and reading books. So many books, so little time!! I'm a high school teacher, so I read a lot of YA to stay current with my kids. This series sounds great, but I haven't read it yet. I will definitely be reading these :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway chance!!
Cassandra
Hello Cassandra! Thank you for commenting and for following my blog! I too love collecting and reading books. You're a teacher? That's awesome! Good for you! What grade do you teach?
DeleteHello! Nice to meet you and thanks for having this giveaway! I read Legend last year and am eagerly waiting for Prodigy to be released at the library.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is definitely The Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. If you ever have the chance, you should, without a doubt, read it. It's a young adult fiction novel about a teenage girl trying to find her mom, which sounds quite ordinary, but the author ties everything together in an extraordinary way. Also, her writing is incredible and the words flow beautifully; I found some amazing quotes in the novel. Finally, the message on love, family, and letting go made me cry endlessly towards the end.
Hello! Thank you for commenting and for following my blog! That book sounds amazing! I have added it to my TBR
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I am going to add this to my Free Swag Friday post - http://readinhouston.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Book (series- is the Kate Daniels series) Magic Bites, Magic Burns... by Ilona Andrews. I love the kick-ass, sarcastic humor, and the hot romance between the kick-ass mage and Beast Lord isn't half bad either.
Hi, Thank you for the comment, for following and the shout out on your blog. I appreciate it!
DeleteHello! I have to say my favorite book of all time is Tears of a Tiger by Sharon M. Draper. This book will always have a special place in the wild ride of my mind. It was the actual first book I ever read and the one that made me fall in love with books. I started reading when I was in Seventh grade (I am now a sophomore in college), I just picked up the book from the bookshelf my English teacher had in the back of the room. I instantly fell in love with it, the story of a girl and her journey through High School fascinated me. I went sailing through the book in flash and couldn’t put it down. I was so intrigued in this form of watching over a life like it was a movie but as me as the director. Because this book is The One who introduced me into the world of fantasies and magic it is why is my favorite book, as it will always will.
ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you for the follow and for the comment. For me, the book that got me to start reading was Pride and Prejudice and I will never forget how I felt after I completed that book for the first time!
DeleteMy favorite book would have to be Harry Potter. This book was such a wild experience. The characters were amazingly detailed and I could never look at a single person for months afterward without comparing them to someone in HP! And don't get me started on the food! I've never been more hungry reading a book! Overall, definitely one of the books that have played with all my senses!!
ReplyDeleteHello Cordelia! Thank you for the add and for the comment! The Harry Potter series was amazing! And you are right the food talk was incredible!
DeleteThat's awesome that you got to meet her! I love when authors turn out to be sweet and are grateful for their fans. (:
ReplyDeleteA favorite book?! Oh my goodness...can I pick one?! Well, my favorite stand-alone is "Ico: Castle in the Mist" by Miyuki Miyabe--it's kind of sad, because nobody has heard of it, though. :( But it's brilliant! I might be biased because it's a novelization of my favorite video game, but the story and characters are stunning. It's about a boy who is exiled as a sacrifice to an ancient castle, and he meets a girl he can't communicate with who is also trapped. He helps her through the castle and fights toward freedom, and the dynamic built between them just through hand-holding/guiding is so beautiful. addfghwvnkrthekvhye. I'm going to cry. Also, I'm rambling. Oh my goodness. OKAY. Anyway, congrats on getting to meet Marie, and I hope your signing next week goes well! (:

My favorite book...
ReplyDeleteWell, that changes frequently. Sometimes it's The Giver by Lois Lowry. I loved reading A Mango Shaped Space by Wendy Mass, too. Pretty much anything by John Green is golden.
My favorite book might actually be The Lorax by Dr. Seuss! I'm studying environmental science in school, and its message really hits home for me. Dr. Seuss is able to use simple, and sometimes made up, vocabulary to convey a powerful message. Damn you, over consumption!
Thanks for sharing you blog with all of us here on the internet, and good luck choosing a winner!
Best,
Corinne
Thanks for this contest. I have so many favorites so I will just say that one of my favorite books is Angelfall by Susan Ee.
ReplyDeleteWow, you're so lucky to meet her! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book currently is The Death of Bees by Lisa O'Donnell. It is a blunt and brutal adult novel with YA aspects (because the main characters are aged 15 and 12) and it is incredible. It's full of dark humor and morbid scenes of death and life for two girls whose parents died on Christmas Eve. Instead of feeling grief-stricken, Marnie and Nelly are annoyed they have to deal with burying their parents' bodies and somehow making everyone think they're still alive so they don't have to go to an orphanage. It is a powerful and heartbreaking book that I'm in love with.
Thank you so much for the giveaway! I loved Legend and have been dying to get my hands on the sequel, but my library has a long list of people ahead of me to get it.
Have fun at the next signing!
I would love to read her book Thanks for the chance of winning it. Love your site too.
