Fantastic Flying Book Club and GIVEAWAY

Why did I start blogging? I get asked this question a lot from different people. Yes the perks of getting advanced review copies is a nice one, but it was never my main reason. You see, I LOVE BOOKS! I love everything about them, discovering them, reading about them and mostly discussing them and sharing them with my friends. And now with all my amazing followers! This blog has helped me build great new friendships with different bloggers. One down in San Diego, one in Saint Louis, one in the UK and specially 2 lovely ladies from Spain!

I have mentioned Pati and Rosa from The Unofficial Addiction Book Fan Club on here many times. They are amazing ladies who I have been able to get to know quite well with over the course of the last couple of months. And thanks to them I have my pretty banner! After hours of comparing the books we're reading and promoting each other's blogs and giveaways we have decided to do a monthly giveaway together. So without further ado may I present THE FANTASTIC FLYING BOOK CLUB!

Here is the gist of the our book club. Each month we will selecting a new release that all three of us want to read and then share with one lucky person. The winner will be able to win either a digital or paper copy of the book. The week prior to the release date of the book, both or our blogs will be putting up different posts, each giving you an opportunity to receive more points. I know all of us spend a lot of time entering giveaways each and ever day with out winning. Well we wanted to make this giveaway one that the time you spend each day posting comments and sending out tweets give you a better chance of winning. The winner each month will be chosen by who has the most entries in the giveaway. We will only utilize a random pick if two or more people are tied with the same amount of entries.

Now on to the first book! After some deliberation we decided to make our first Fantastic Flying Book choice INK by Amanda Sun!

"I looked down at the paper, still touching the tip of my shoe. I reached for it, flipping the page over to look.

Scrawls of ink outlined a drawing of a girl lying on a bench.

A sick feeling started to twist in my stomach, like motion sickness.

And then the girl in the drawing turned her head, and her inky eyes glared straight into mine.

On the heels of a family tragedy, the last thing Katie Greene wants to do is move halfway across the world. Stuck with her aunt in Shizuoka, Japan, Katie feels lost. Alone. She doesn’t know the language, she can barely hold a pair of chopsticks, and she can’t seem to get the hang of taking her shoes off whenever she enters a building.

Then there’s gorgeous but aloof Tomohiro, star of the school’s kendo team. How did he really get the scar on his arm? Katie isn’t prepared for the answer. But when she sees the things he draws start moving, there’s no denying the truth: Tomo has a connection to the ancient gods of Japan, and being near Katie is causing his abilities to spiral out of control. If the wrong people notice, they'll both be targets.

Katie never wanted to move to Japan—now she may not make it out of the country alive."

So here are all the different things we have planned and the different ways you can earn points!  Hope to see you all at each step!

  6. Book heroine should be badass - not afraid of getting her hands dirty. She should be able to make tough decisions and not be dependent on anyone.

  7. I would most definitely have a difficult time adjusting, especially if the language as well was different and I had to learn that. I think if I could speak the same language as the new culture, I'd be okay, but yeah, I'm not a big fan of change. I'd probably be overwhelmed

  8. The best qualities for a character I think is their flaws. I love to go on rollercoaster ride with the characters and to see them fall and, of course, get back up again.

  9. I love finding out all about the characters, and also they need to be described in a way like I can connect with them. I want them to be spunky, and not pathetic.
