Synopsis:

From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane.

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life—that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other

My Review:

A lot of people believe the Pushing the Limits series is one of the best YA contemporary series out there. I wouldn't say it was one of my favorites, but one that I enjoy and will continue picking up as they are released. Things these last few weeks have been pretty hectic for me. I started my first nursing job and after a week was offered an administrative role as well. After coming home from training and being mentally drained, I needed a book that I would enjoy and that I could get lost in easily. And Crash Into You was exactly that book.

I had been a big fan of Isaiah in the last 2 books and really wanted him to have a happy ending. So I was excited to find out that this book was about him. I enjoyed finding out more about Isaiah and to read about his story. There is just something about a young man with depth and a troubled past that I like rooting for.

Rachel is a new character to this series and one that I was torn on. I just couldn't get invested to her story As a medical professional I could not condone her keeping her anxiety attacks secret. I understood why she was doing it in relation to the story, but I just found  myself shaking my head every time it was mentioned instead of sympathizing with her.  However I did really enjoy her stepping out of her box and doing something crazy like drag racing.

The story as a whole was very enjoyable. Predictable - but enjoyable. I look forward to picking up the next book!

  1. Good review. Congrats on your job. I can see how that would bother you in the story, since you are someone in the health field. Thanks for your honest feedback though. While I haven't started the series as yet, I am intrigued by the books and do hope to start the first one soon.

  2. Congrats on the new job. That's so awesome. I can't wait until I'm done with my last yr and am in the field as well. I'll have to move because I have trained myself out of a job here but some of the hospitals further away are hiring. I'm so excite. I said the same thing esp because of how sick it was making her.
